For News Report, go here:
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=local&id=5656203

The report says that the suspect was 'allegedly wielding a knife and hit somebody in the head with a full beer can' prior to the police being called. That prolly happened, but does that mean cops can just run you down when someone alleges you're violent? There is supposed to be 'due process'...

Amendment V
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime... nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law...

Amendment VI
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

I called the Police Dept. and then the City Manager's Office just now,
they tell me it has been ruled an 'accident'.
I asked both what the officer's name was so I could list
it here, but they both told me they didn't know...

You guys call and see if you can get his name out of these bureaucrats:
